The Centon K100 is essentially a rebadged Pentax K1000, with the exception of the camera body being a different material from the hard polished steel of the K1000. The components and features are identical to that of the Pentax, with the lens mount even being the same. 

Centon was the house brand for cameras, lenses and photographic accessories for a number of UK retailers. 

The Pentax K1000/Centon K100 (originally marked the Asahi Pentax K1000) is an interchangeable lens, 35 mm film, single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, manufactured by Asahi Optical Co., Ltd. from 1976 to 1997, originally in Japan. 

The K1000's/K100's extraordinary longevity makes it a historically significant camera. The K1000's/K100's inexpensive simplicity was a great virtue and earned it unrivalled popularity as a basic but sturdy workhorse. The Pentax K1000/K100s eventually sold over three million units.
